This will be a bit odd a bunch of pro players playing a game in an empty stadium.

The Orioles and White Sox will play in front of an empty stadium - SBNation.com

Due to the civil unrest in Baltimore, Wednesday's Orioles/White Sox game will be closed to the public.

On Monday and Tuesday, games between the Baltimore Orioles and Chicago White Sox at Camden Yards were cancelled due to safety concerns related to protests and civil unrest in Baltimore. Because of a lack of common off days among teams in the typical Major League Baseball schedule, additional cancellations would have been nearly impossible to make up, but the solution is still stunning: Wednesday's game will be played in front of an empty stadium. From an Orioles press release:

After consultation with Major League Baseball and city and local officials, tomorrow's game between the Orioles and the Chicago White Sox will begin at 2:05 p.m. ET and will be closed to the general public.

The Orioles are also moving a three-game series against the Tampa Bay Rays that was scheduled for May 1-3 to Tampa.

The game will still be televised, as scheduled. Fans with tickets to any of the closed games will be able to exchange them on a "dollar for dollar" basis for any future Orioles games. Fans with tickets to either of Monday or Tuesday's game will be able to attend a Orioles/White Sox doubleheader on Thursday, May 28.

But, again, on Wednesday there will be a baseball game in front of no one.

And following the no-fans games, every game will be "Bat Day" and fans will be given baseball bats to use on anyone who disrupts their enjoyment of the game.

The stupid thing is that the TV blackout rules will apparently still apply.
:wtf:

I guess this game is to satisfy a TV contract but damn, to still have a blackout seems gay.
They couldn't reschedule it I suppose.

I'm guessing the blackout still applies because they are basing it on the number of tickets already sold for the game. It is ridiculous though. I also wonder if the box score will record the attendance as 0 or if they'll report the number of tickets sold and footnote that it was played in an empty stadium.

Sucks for the stadium workers, who I assume miss out on the pay.

That would be cool to watch on tv if not for the blackout....

Security for the game will be heightened. You don't lock out the public from a MLB game and not have in place security to assure the safety of those present (Not even in Baltimore).

The situation begs the question, how many "connected" people will be inside the stadium for concocted purposes, in effect watching a private MLB game?
