Who is that one player that left in free agency, got traded or didn't get drafted? You can do one of each if you want.

1. Free Agency

lg_fletcher_ap-1-jpg.7912

The Heart and Soul of the Rams GSOT defense.

2. Traded

dick-lane.ap.jpg

How do you trade a hall of famer.

3. Didn't draft

Him and Donald is all I wanted in 2014. We chose Greg Robinson. :L

I'm convinced if we had either one of those guys in 2006, instead of Reche Caldwell, the Pats win the Super Bowl.

No idea if he was even on their radar, but the Pats traded the 26th pick in the 2009 draft and the Packers took Matthews. Would have had him on the outside instead of Adalius Thomas.

Free Agency: I can't think of one. I was a little miffed when Sidney Rice and Nate Burleson were signed away by Seattle, but they ended up doing nothing. (Add Harvin's antics and I really think Seattle should stop with the Vikings WRs altogether).

Some might say Matt Birk, but I wanted that overrated asshole gone years before he left.

There is only one answer here.

The deadliest weapon in the NFL at the time and we trade him in his prime. And to make matters worse, we drafted this guy with the pick that we got from him:

Draft:

usa-today-8098998.0.jpg

You could say either player in this picture, because I wanted Prince or Fairley at the time over Ponder (and for as mediocre as they have been, they would have been better options than him), But that's not what I meant.

I was screaming for the Vikings to draft DeAndre Hopkins at the top of my lungs. Ever since I saw him slaughter LSU's secondary in the Chick-fil-A Bowl on NYE 2012 into 2013. I said "If this guy can make Tajh Boyd look good, he can make any QB look good." I was proven right until he ran into a guy by the name of Brock Osweiler.

Just thought of two guys who should not have left via free agency:

hi-res-366604_crop_north.jpg

19-randall-mcdaniel-minnesota-vikings-1988_pg_600.jpg

John Randle and Randall McDaniel are two guys who busted their asses for this team for over a decade apiece and got shown the door as cap casualties because Denny Green (RIP) and Jeff Diamond put us in cap hell.

Those two should have been career Vikings.

Free Agency: Joe Horn; talent was completely wasted and buried. Major failure.

51617542.jpg

Trade: Tony Gonzalez; he deserved so much better for what he did. His career in KC should not have had to end the way it did.

Tony+Gonzalez+Denver+Broncos+v+Kansas+City+bW6hmIBt1HJl.jpg

Draft: Dan Marino; selecting Todd Blackledge over Dan Marino remains one of the more damaging decisions, in hindsight, in franchise history. The Dolphins had done pissed in the Chiefs' cheerios once again.

Osemele? Most players that leave the Ravens don't really excel (or produce any better) on their new team (at least on defense).

Traded

Anquan Boldin.....that really hurt the offense until Steve Smith came

Drafted
Antonio fucking Brown....Ravens picked a OT right before Steelers picked Brown in the 6th

Damn. Good list. At least with Tony, Atlanta treated him well and he was able to get his records (1000 catches and 100 TDs).

It should have been in KC, but he wasn't toiling around on 3 or 4 different teams as a shell of himself and trying to collect his records. He was still good when he walked away.

Hmmm let's see

Free Agency: Trevor Pryce

He had a back injury his last season with the Broncos so they thought he was done. Nope goes to Baltimore and has some of his best seasons ever in helping them have a top-3 defense for quite a few seasons.

Trade: Well Broncos way back in the day traded a starting player and a 1st round pick for a back up QB that according to the trade agreement would only remain with the Broncos for 2 years then be set free to return to the team they traded with.

That 1st round pick they traded was used in trading up to the 1st overall pick that netted the Jets Joe Namath

That back up QB we got (Jacky Lee) didn't do all that well with the next season the team going 2-11.

Draft: Maybe Tim Tebow.

Pretty obvious to most he was not nor never will be a starting caliber QB in the NFL. Throw in we actually traded up to get him.

Couple of picks later Devin McCourty would have been a very nice player to add to our defense or Jared Odrick to give us a nice inside pass rusher or 17 picks later Rob Gronkowski.

The one that got away:

Derek Carr!

One Carr wasn't good enough for ya Rob, you want both brothers?

I was 16 and she was 28, shouldn't have let her get away, but her husband made it difficult. I should have bought him a ticket to Australia, but happy now cause ole biddy be old now

Packers:

Free agency
2011 Cullen Jenkins - mostly because of the collapse of the defense after 2010 Super Bowl team. A defense that was #2 scoring and top 5 yards.

upload_2017-2-18_19-0-49.png

Traded
1974 - Not who the Packers traded, but who they traded for since it may be one of the worst trades ever in the NFL. Packers traded 1975 1st, 2nd and 3rd round picks and 1976 1st and 2nd round picks for 34 year old John Hadl. He played 1 1/2 years for the Packers.

This trade helped to bring on the lean years of the Packers for the remainder of the 1970s.

upload_2017-2-18_19-3-25.png

Draft
1979 - Packers scouts wanted to draft Joe Montana in 2nd round/3rd rounds... Bart Starr in his infinite wisdom as GM choose RB Steve Atkins (2nd rd) and Charles Johnson (3rd rd).
