Good to have another manager to the coaching staff, maybe he will balance out Yost in decision making.

So, we need 3 nee starters from last years rotation, and an outfielder who isn't useless vs RHP ( Lough doesn't count)

Starters will probably be in my opinion:

Shields
Arroyo
Guthrie
Duffy
Paulino

Ventura gets a callup when the risk of qualification for super 2 status is nill.

My hope is that the Royals grab a Beltran and then hopefully the offense continues to progress as a whole. Easier said than done with the payroll dynamics, but I think it can and should be done. We have far and away the best runs saved and the deepest pen in the AL. Most of the lineup is set in stone for the next two years outside of 2nd base and an Outfield slot (presumably RF with Cain in Center, and Gordon in left)

The Royals’ caution follows a major draft gamble that netted Manaea.
Analysts viewed Manaea, 6 feet 5 and 215 pounds, as a possible No. 1 overall pick before his hip injury raised concerns. His problem surfaced in March after he adjusted his delivery to compensate for a minor ankle injury.

Manaea still compiled a 1.47 ERA in 13 starts as a junior at Indiana State while striking out 93 in 73 1/3 innings, but he remained available when the Royals made their second pick — No. 34 overall.

Really awesome that this guy is healthy and ready to pitch, really hope to see him progress through the system, I really like the guy... no homo.

Ventura is either called up to replace an injured pitcher, or Paulino is traded for a decent package for the offense and Ventura slides into the 5 slot.

Hellickson: Sexy, but risky.
Kendrick: Mediocre, but serviceable
Mccarthy: DL King
Morrow: To gamble, or not to gamble on Morrow
Richard: Fuck that, SD can non-tender him first.

NO on Santana, he will be awfull if the Royals sign him...let someone else take the risk, not enough consistancy for the Royals to gamble on.

Brett Anderson is the highest upside for the price pitcher on that list...he could be a number 2 or 1, if his health issues are finally over...but those same issues will make him cheaper.

Santana definitely relies more on the slider than he does with his fastball now, if that slider drops off, I think we are fucked if we sign him. If the slider is fine, I don't expect anything different.
