Also seen a few posts suggesting Colorado should offer Ottawa’s pick back to them for Stone+ and offer sheet him if they reject. I say they should do it.

Only if GMBM has a George McPhee moment...

I mean, I'd want a little more but TBH Washington would probably entertain this more than you might think.

Backstrom's turning 31 this fall and is only signed for another year (at crazy cheap money but still). If Washington can turn this trick and sign JT they come out on top x10.

Of course, if they don't sign JT they're screwed. Another reason why free agency needs to happen before the draft starts.

That would be tempting for the Caps if Montreal added a little more. Maybe MTL throws in next year's 1st as well? Washington would need a 1B center to replace Backstrom in the short term but if they really like a guy like Kotkaniemi they might view him as a Backstrom replacement in a few years. Maybe make a move for ROR in the meantime?

I don't know why MTL would do this though. I know they need a #1 C but Backstrom will likely be long gone (or past his prime) before they contend again.

Backstrom would be a great pickup for Montreal for sure. Do the Caps do it though? Does Montreal give up #3 as well? Because that would have to be involved in this trade IMO.

I just know that I’m getting all excited for this offseason being super busy but I’m just gonna end up sitting, twiddling my thumbs. Give me chaos, boys. Remember Jimmy, call the dumb GMs every day. Barkov for Hunwick! I hear Hunwick has a great lady!

Pierre LeBrun is hearing that the Flames and Canes are in discussions regarding Elias Lindholm. Kind of funny because Carolina selected Lindholm just prior to the Flames taking Sean Monahan in the 2013 entry draft and a lot of fans were hoping it might have been reversed. Maybe there's a chance the Flames can have both players, I'd be okay with that.

I'd be scared if I'm a Flames fan. Can only imagine what would be going the other way.

Scott Oake’s son is a pretty good magician. He’s making his career disappear.

This has been the most cringe-inducing show I have ever watched.

I mean, seriously, the kid interviewer and the accountant/goalie have been the best parts.

Who the fuck were those two who announced the NHL 19 cover?

I actually laughed out loud when the picture of Kopitar was all jumbled.
