I think he could be gone but who knows if will give him one more year because of all the injuries and having some good wins

With basketball we need a big time coach to justify the arena. Otherwise why the hell did we build it? We could still be sucking ass in the Bob. Two of the top 7 highest paid NCAA b-ball coaches are in the big ten. We need to be proactive in finding a b-ball staff that can recruit. If Kansas can have success we damn sure can. Our guys play hard but we need depth and a big man and we have neither. Lack of rebounds is killing us. At this point there should be no question Tim Miles was the right hire and we are dancing again for the second or third time. I think he gets another year but man he has to be above .500 20-12. 21-11 something like that to show me he is worth his dinner

I will be shocked if Miles is fired this year.

This is as promising as we've looked for the near future in over a decade. Everyone's back except Webster next year.

Seeing as a bunch of Freshmen and Sophomores have stepped up and helped us beat 4 teams we had no business beating, I am very positive Miles will be given next year with the expectation of post season play.

I concur that Timmy has bought himself at least one more year with the youth and competitive basketball they have been playing since that really crappy loss. Good transfer coming in next year too, so I agree with the NIT comment too.

There is not enough homegrown talent to fiend a championship team but Riley has already said what will get us there. Own the 500 mile radius and revamp the walk on program. If we do that and pick up a couple of skilled sets we are in the drivers seat.
We did it under Osborne and Devaney. Alvarez took it up to Wisconsin and did it.Problem is they have to get the home grown to "want" to play for Nebraska again. These kids knew BoP and HWSNBN and think if they're going to get coached they have to go out of state. That has to change.

We got a few though and those scholarships that are left over? Those are the hope for the walk ons that are paying to have a chance to play at UNL. If we play the SEC game and over offer that hope is gone for the Nebraska walk ons.
It always sucks when you hook the big one and break the line but I'm good with leaving a couple scholarships as carrots to the ones that are willing to work hard and ring the bell.

I don't remember the last time I said I wouldn't mind a particular in-state kid getting an offer and then the kid ends up walking on. That happened with Paup this year. That's the kind of thing we need to make happen...it's not that we should be offering the types of kids from here that go to the Dakotas, we need them to walk on. Back in the day, scholarships to schools like NDSU weren't an option, so those guys walked on at NU.
