Did it coincide with Stephen Jones taking over too? I feel like he doesn't get enough credit
I do think thats a big part of it, Steven listens to the coaches and scouting dept.
No way to know for sure but it's believed part of the deal to give Steve control Jerry gets to make the rd 2 pick. That pick seams like a roll of the dice yearly. Looks like he might have gotten last year's right.

Most of today's fat boys, who in the past would have gravitated toward the offensive line as a way to get chicks, are now the ones that just look at **** all day on their smart phone. Won't even go out for sports cause they don't worry about impressing girls. They're fat, lazy and right-hand happy, if you know what I mean. Just my opinion.

Part of the issue is that OL developing in college (spread) is stunted.

That's the biggest issue IMO. Draft your linemen from teams that still run a more conservative offense.

They need more practice and better coaching and more time hitting.

@Edonidd No penalties and solid blocking last week, you are right to panic about 1 week against the best dline in football though

Just giving you a hard time. He's a backup, and as such I have no problem with him. Would love to have Decker back though.

Agreed, Decker is awesome. If he was healthy I would be happy to never see Robinson on the field again

Just draft a Wisconsin OL guy every year. You'll be OK

Browns draft the greatest Wisconsin OL of all time and still suck for a decade plus

This is a problem I'm thankful the Steelers don't have. Helps a ton when you have a HOFer coaching your O-line (Munchak). Not to mention having an apprentice O-line coach in the offseason that's a future HOFer in Alan Faneca.

As we've said though...it's rough out there...this is why Hawkins and Feiler made the 53...hoarding OL...lol! I think Finney and Hubbard could probably start on at least half dz teams.

This is funny. Blaming college offenses for the NFL's problems. Not too long ago, the NFL would blame college offenses for linemen not being able to pass block and QBs not being able to run a pro-style offense.

7 O-Linemen first rounders were selected in 2 of the last 3 drafts. 13 O-Linemen were taken in the first round of 2013's draft.

It's not a talent gap or a college scheme issue. Its an NFL talent development issue and an NFL scouting issue.

that'll happen when the rest of your picks for a decade plus are terrible.

No doubt on Finney & Hubbard. Both are stud depth guys to have. When you have 2 guys that can instantly step in & you don't see any dropoff or vulnerabilities on the O-line... That's incredibly valuable. But I do think a lot of the development is directly related to having Munchak around. He's turned 2 UDFA's in Hubbard & Finney into starter material.
