I'd guess he's going to the DL eventually. Hip labrum injuries are generally slow to heal. He's quoted as saying it's a impingement issue, so I'm surprised he's not already there. They say he's available to hit which could lead to sliding which appears to be what caused the initial injury. Doesn't make much sense keeping him active from a risk standpoint or 25 man depth perspective.

Gotta say that we need somebody who can go from 2nd to home on a 2-out single ... the odds of the Reds getting a hit from the pitchers are close to zero.

Almost everything this team does surprises me. Why not just DL the guy and get a hitter.?

A win is a win but ... giving up a home run on a groover ball still isn't going to get it.

And we thought the Reds were struggling......the Brewers give struggling a whole new definition.

The Reds didn't necessarily play better, the competition came down a level or two...or three.

Milwaukee lineup exposes a few serious flaws.

Aramis Ramirez is way past the time of being a force.
Without Gomez, they don't get any churn. He is going to be out awhile.
Post-PEDs, Braun is a good, not dynamic, hitter.
Khris Davis is overrated.

I do think it's time to take the Cubs seriously, however.

After several unexplained delayed DL "decisions", I have to believe the Kremcheck diagnosis or lack thereof is a contributing factor. Impingements require moving of bone out of the way to fix, unless is caused by swollen tissue that can subside and shrink. Maybe the ibuprofen prayer was/is in play. Catching is the worst position for an injury below the waist, so I'm not a fan of playing a guy 5-6 days in a row there to begin with. As bad as the Reds lineup is without last years Meso in it, in shocked they haven't at least considered a second position for him. Maybe they will now.

Desclafani still impressive. I suspect Marquis will be equally unimpressive tonight, regardless of the condition of Meso's hip, Billy's finger and groin, or Prices ass.

Pitching is always the first and last answer.

Sorry:doh:, I misread it, Mesoraco is just returning to the team. I didn't realize he left the team

He never went on the DL. They could have done a personal leave roster change, I think. This outfit is bizarre.

This team showed up opening day with 24 players on a 25 man roster, and had to recall a guy from AAA optioned there the day before. It was Krivsky and Dusty, not Jocketty and Price, but sometimes a thought process is passed down. It must be complex logic, I don't understand... Just saying.

Maybe Price needs Mesoraco as a PH threat to divert the oppositions game plan up or down by 4 runs ? The only reason to not DL a guy out for a week, is you expect him back sooner than 15 days, and you can function without a 25th player until then. This team can live without the last bullpen member just as well, maybe better without them. They can bring up a catcher that can catch. What they can't replace is the bat a healthy Mesoraco has...but if he can't catch, he probably can't play. If he can hit ( hips do effect hitting) he probably can't run or slide. So how much is a talented guy that is compromised to be questionable at every aspect of his game, worth ? How long ?

No answers....that probably means they don't know. Which, IMO, might be part of the problem in the first place. They kept Votto off the DL and not playing for a while before facing the inevidible. It's like they want to sell 3 dozen more tickets before they tell fans he's out for the year or something. If so, It's stupid.

Hey, I predicted a loss last night, with the kind of performance Marquis delivered.

I'm hoping the Reds use of the blowpen increases Cueto's chances of not seeing them follow his start tonight. He needs to go 8 and give the lead to Chapman.

Wow- just noticed tonight isn't the sweep game- it's a 4 game series, they play again Thursday before the drunken upstart Cubbies invade GABP Friday.

I have tix for Friday- hoping to see Lester toss a couple more pickoff throws into the stands. If I catch one of those im not tossing it back, I'm going to ask Lester to sign it for me after i title it "laughable Lester pickoff attempt 4-24-15 GABP" Think he'll "Price" me ?

Never has a guy had a more appropriate name. This Hoover SUCKS! How many times is Walt going to watch Hoover and his shiny 7.94 ERA get his brains kicked in? This guy has been pathetic for years now. Long past time to DFA him. Price needs to cuss at his bullpen, not the "fuckin" sportswriters.

The not so secret ingredient to the Reds winning is the Brewers. You add in the late season collapse the Brewers had last year and they are on a titanic downward spiral.

I think 1507 has mentioned he sits in the Sun Deck and will be at the Friday Cubs game. Lester may not hit you based on where you're sitting, but it's the 25 year reunion of the 1990 WS team...... you might want to keep a eye on Rob Dibble.
