It sure did. In ways I was not expecting it to as well as the obvious.
I saw it in 3D. Damn that was some serious awesome special effects. I'm probably going to see it again in regular format. Anyway, Darth Vader was epic. It just brought back memories for me when I first watched the original back in '78 on how friggin' intimidating he is. The dude will always be my favorite Sith Lord, hands down. My question for you is do you think that Star Destroyer that was destroyed is the same one in the "Force Awakens" in the desert?

No I don't believe it was as I don't believe they were anywhere near that planet. I heard that the one from The Force Awakens is mentioned in another book.

Rouge 1. Best star wars movie since return of the jedi. Very realistic with minimal CGI AND NO CHEESY FUCKEN ACTING! Loved it

Manchester By The Sea

Mostly somber with some little spots of humor in it to prevent it from being a drag. It's being called the best movie of the year. That, I'm not so sure of but it's really good. 8.75/10

Saw Rogue One yesterday. It was amazing. Easily the best SW movie since the originals. Finally some good acting to go with a good plot.

Some nice easter eggs in there for us nerds. The Vader scenes were well integrated (not forced into the plot). Loved the scene of his castle and we finally got to see Vader kick some ass.The CGI and voice work on Tarkin, Leia, Red Leader and Gold Leader was spot-on, almost creepy, like they were up against the uncanny threshold. And to top it all off, it ended just before Ep4 began! Loved it!

It was so good, I'll be going back to theater to see it again. I haven't done that in a long time...a long time.

Saw it last night with my kid.

Really good.

Kind of dour ending though. Heck even in Dirty Dozen, a couple of the team make it back. No worries about CANON issues moving forward though.

Didn't even notice the egregious lack of white guys.

I have hateful eight on rental. I've already determined it's not really worth it.

Sully 3/5. Hanks was amazing but it fell a little flat for me(no pun intended).

2 Movies I just watched for the first time

The Hateful Eight
Wasn't disappointed but not overly impressed with it. Blood and guts everywhere which I liked.
Typical QT movie. Although the running time was long, the movie didn't actually seem to be that long which is a good indication of good or bad in a movie. It drug on in spots, but the anticipation of what might be coming got me through it.

The ending wasn't quite as good as I had hoped.
It was like a big mystery movie or the board game 'clue'.

Not having the urge to watch it again yet, so this makes it get a downgrade rating for me, for now.
7/10

Hail, Caesar
The acting was good. The movie scenes within the movie scenes were done well.
Had some funny parts, but this movie just fell flat for me. It seemed like it moved along pretty good, but it just wasn't that great. Won't be watching this one again.
