I apologize, I’ve been somewhat busy the last month. I will post all the films I have seen, in the order I saw them, since I last posted in this thread about The Right Stuff (3/5 stars). I’m pretty sure this is all of them. Since I’m going to bed, I will not post any comments/reviews on the films, because there are so many. Maybe tomorrow I’ll comment on what I thought about each movie. I imagine some of my ratings won’t be popular; luckily, I am reminded of the fact that movie ratings are completely subjective:cheer2:

Get Out: 4/5 stars
The Man Who Fell To Earth: 1/5 stars
Close Encounters of The Third Kind: 0.5/5 stars
Moon: 3/5 stars
Dial M For Murder: 4/5 stars
12 Monkeys: 4/5 stars
Dr. Strangelove or[:]How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb: 1/5 stars
Get Out I liked more than I thought I would. I think I had it around 3-3.5. I enjoyed Dial M for Murder and would've rated around 3-3.5 as well. One of the better Hitchcock movies I've seen but still think that Rear Window is the best. I watched about 10-15 minutes of Dr Strangelove but never got around to finishing it. I'd like to see Moon at some point as I've heard pretty good things about it.

Would you move it to his actual birthday and give the Winter Solstice back to the pagans?

I personally am interested in shifting the church year calendar to separate the celebration of Christ's birth from all of the other December celebrations, but I'm probably the only person on the planet who is.

I saw Wonder Wheel yesterday. That's a Woody Allen picture that takes place in Coney Island in the 1950's. Jim Belushi and Kate Winslett are the stars. Not a typical Allen movie. No real humor. A complicated love triangle when a lifeguard falls in love with the mother and her daughter. A lot of fighting and arguing and a bit of a twist at the end. Some good acting.

Nothing special, give it a C.

Wow, I love the DC animated films too... This was a good one but as always the alternate earth comics/movies go to far... So because Barry allen a.k.a the flash went back in time to save his mother, the world ended?? Superman never came to be, batman was Bruce's father!!! come on that is just too much...

*Note* most of these DC animated films are much darker and much better than the live action DC films... Batman: under the red hood, batman: year one, Batman: the dark night returns, are all darker and better than the christian bale batman movies... Not to mention they were actually based on the comics while the christian Bale trilogy made too many changes...

I just watched Under the Red Hood about a week ago. Cool ass movie. DC makes so much better animated shows than Marvel (I'm still fuckin pissed they 86ed Green Lantern: The Animated Series and Young Justice) But DC's major motion pictures suck swollen blue whale nuts (Suicide Squad was alright) while Marvel's motion pictures have gotten better and better.

While I doubt it happens. I hope Black Panther gets made/has been made/whatever with an R rating. BET did a short Black Panther series that was dark and cool as fuck, storyline-wise, but fucked it up with arguably the worst animation style I've had the displeasure of seeing.

Gotta check out this Flash movie y'all talking about. Sounds cool.

I just finished The Heat starring Sandra Bullock. Not as hillarious as was advertised But there were a couple of gut busters. I'd rate it 4 stars out of 5.

I dug Heat myself and if you haven't seen it. Check out Spy starring Melissa McCarthy, she cracks me up, but Jason Statham stole the show, he had me cryin, and Rose Byrne is great as well.

Last Jedi 9/10

I wrote my thoughts in the spoiler thread...
It's weird that I have a lot of issues with the movie and yet in my opinion all it does is drop the rating from like an A to an A-.

It's 2 and a half hours long and most of it is great.

After letting the movie digest for a few days, I probably drop it to an 8/10, but still very enjoyable. I think people are being too critical with their complaints, but that doesn’t mean the complaints aren’t legit.

Most of the complaints, imo, don't actually hurt the movie itself but instead hurt the movies around it. I absolutely think there are some major issues.

On the other hand, I feel like if I give the movie a lower score then what movies are going to get the high grades? I liked it more than any of the superhero movies that came out this year.

A+. Top 5 movie. Just got around to watching it. I didn't have the pseudo-religious experience that some had while watching it, but it's great, no doubt.

I am not sure I agree. A universe movie, or a franchise movie HAS to be considered part of the larger product whereas a stand alone doesn’t.

Episodes I and II might be considered better movies if they were viewed as simply kids sci-fi instead of part of the Star Wars universe.

Been meaning to respond to this.

Get Out: I enjoyed, no problem with rating
The Man Who....: Agreed, didn't care for it much.
Close Encounters: One of the 10 best movies I've ever seen. Brilliant film 5/5 and A+
Moon: Didn't see
Dial M For Murder: Agree
12 Monkeys: Maybe 3.5, but OK
Dr. Strangelove: One of the 25 best movies I've ever seen. The greatest Black Comedy of all Time. A+

Maybe it's a generational difference. But I really disagree with you on those 2 films.

Close Encounters may be in my top 5 worst films of all time. I have two films at 0/5; 'Batman and Robin' (the lowest 0/5 movie of all time), and 'Cloverfield.' Then among 0.5/5 star films, 'Pacific Rim' is the lowest. Shit, I guess 'Moonlight' would have to be next.

That leaves one spot. I guess I like Casino (0.5/5 stars) slightly more than Close Encounters. Both movies are absolute trash.

So Close Encounters does make my top 5 worst movies of all the movies I've seen and rated.

Eh, Moon felt cooler than it really was IMO. I don't want to comment without spoiling it, but there's a big part of it that annoyed me. I still enjoyed it, but I thought it would go higher than the 3/5 star rating I gave it.

I don't know if you're familiar with the American Film Institute (AFI) They've rated the 100 best movies of all time. Dr. Strangelove is currently rated 39th.

Close Encounters was rated 64th in the 1997 edition, But was left off the list when there was another re-vote in 2007.

These are 2 great films, but everything is subjective when it comes to movies, so I respect your opinion.

Yes, I'm familiar. I thought they were ranked under the 100 Years...100 [Whatever genre the movie is in], not the all time best movies. Regardless, yes subjective, and yes, those movies are near-unanimously loved. That's why you've got to watch them yourself.
