He has not done very much since he left Vandy and that will continue until 2023. He should take a year or so to just into the flow of things. I can see him spending all of 2024 at AA and all of 2025 at AAA. Then he will have to wait until someone goes down with an injury in 2026.

This is the most pessimistic post from you I ever remember.....I agree he's done pretty much nothing since leaving the Doors, but to predict he doesn't have a chance until at least 2026 seems like the Rangers made a HORRID draft pick in your opinion.....Don't get me wrong, I'm not a Rocker flag bearer. But I certainly think he has a lot of 'potential' and before five seasons go by.

It depends on how costly the guy is who stinks. If it is an expensive free agent that is stinking then they would most likely stay put. Between the pitching acquisitions they are likely to make and guys like Leiter and White, it may take an injury to get Rocker a temporary spot in the rotation.

He is getting a very late start in his development and he has a whole lot of catching up to do. They will most likely be extremely careful with him next year.

Also, I don't think they will hold a spot open for him. Once he is ready he will have to wait on a longer term injury to get a shot, I think.

If the Rangers have 5 starters good enough to keep a MLB-ready Rocker in the minors, then the Rangers will be in incredible shape.

There is also a decent chance that Rocker is the headliner in a trade at the 2025 trade deadline.
