TEAM: The Arizona Cardinals

SEVERITY:

SUMMARY: Ex-Cardinal and retired Pro Bowl quarterback Jeff Blake confessed in an interview that removing air from footballs was common when he played in the NFL from 1992-2005.

"I'm just going to let the cat of the bag, every team does it, every game, it has been since I played," the ex-Cardinal QB said Wednesday in a radio interview on the "Midday 180" show on Nashville's 104.5 The Zone. "Cause when you take the balls out of the bag, they are rock hard. And you can't feel the ball as well. It's too hard.

"Everybody puts the pin in and takes just enough air out of the ball that you can feel it a little better. But it's not the point to where it's flat. So I don't know what the big deal is. It's not something that's not been done for 20 years."

Blake says that he'd order ball boys to let air out of his footballs just before the start of games during his entire NFL career, which included time with the Arizona Cardinals in 2003.

VICTIM: The entire league

PUNISHED? No but ... it's more probable than not that this was cheating

PUNISHMENT: Their quarterback admitted that he cheated. Also, in early 2015Heisman winner and former-Arizona quarterback Matt Leinart said that "every team tampers with the footballs." Leinart was with the Cardinals from 2006 to 2009.

Another wrong example for the argument. Blake admitted what he did. Who cares it is years later, he can say anything he wants.
He didn't get up in a press conference and lie to everyone about his involvement. And this is about the Pats who cares what any other team did or didn't do. The Pats keep getting caught, so they deserve what comes there way. BB thinks he is smarter than everyone and all he keeps doing is giving the Pats more problems.

kurts a god fearin man tho

he cant touch his wifes anus without god gettin all fired up.

I am embarrassed for the 2003 Cardinals and believe all 4 of their wins that year were fraudulent. Just like all the Patriot wins last year were Fraudulent. Oh. and every year before spygate.

Is that fair?

Prior to 2007 the NFL handled the game balls. I'm sure some air was let out of some of the balls to make them more comfortable for the players but, it does not say that they lowered the pressure to illegal levels. After the 2007 changes and teams controlled their own game balls why would you need to let air out of them? Your staff should have had the balls at the appropriate level.

You're fishing for reasons to justify the fact that your team cheated and it's obvious to anyone and everyone.

I'm confused as to what the OP's argument is. Everyone does it and therefore it isn't wrong to deflate balls?

it really is.

let the QB's do what they want with the balls then.
Would you agree that anyone that doesn't pass a pee test shouldn't be banned either because they should be able to do what they want as well. What about players who hit their wives/girlfriends/children. Free country?

What if an offensive lineman wants to hold on a particular play? Should that flag never be thrown? Its commonly said that a ref can find holding on every play, so should that flag NEVER be thrown then and simply let offensive linemen do what they want?
