IMO, this is hard to quantify. you could come up with 50 different teams that look right given the superstars that have graced football for 80+ years.......
Take any position, any team. and compare it to the current crop of say the top 20 teams.......
OSU had a great championship team in 1968. That team wouldn't come close to say, the 2014 OSU natty team, or this year's team for that matter.....
same with the pros.....
take the best team the Steelers or Cowboys had in the 70s. put them up against any of the last few superbowl teams........ not even a contest. Bigger - Faster - Tougher.......
I feel like they factored in each players NFL career instead of what they strictly did in College, which I don’t like. No way Tim Tebow isn’t on the team if they only factor college
Herschel on first team(suck it Bo)
Champ Bailey and Kevin Butler on the second team.

I hate all-time teams like this bc you can tell their NFL career had to do with this list. A lot of better players at almost every position on this all-time team...plus college it's hard to make an all-time team...era, competition depending on conference, etc.

I like them because it helps us all remember those that paved the path to today.
We aren't here without the greats from before. These are names that need to be remembered, and bantered about for years to come. Many of them dominated like they were in a little league game amid their peers.
True but it doesn't mean they are the greatest...some, sure. I don't consider this the best player at every position imo
Full on with Herschel and Butler.
Champ Bailey doesn't belong anywhere near this list.
Keith Jackson should have been 1st team TE. Mike Ditka?
He was tough but not the game changer Keith was at TE.

Agreed.Peyton Manning 2nd team is an absolute joke.
