I've changed my mind. This actually isn't bad for what it is.. a formula network TV show. If Denzel can do it why not her? Action hero shows are inherently unrealistic so if one can be a 60-something man, why not a 50 YO woman?

But Tom Cruise at 5'7" and maybe a buck fifty doing the same is perfectly acceptable? Or 60-something Denzel Washington? I don't get this take. It's all just fantasy.

Yes it’s definitely more believable. Tom’s villains are always short like him anyway. Hollywood with its smoke and mirrors you can never really tell that Tom is short. They do a good job with it and probably with latifah. I just buy latifah a hell of a lot less. Should have cast a man there.

She's a big woman.. a lot bigger than Tom Cruise. She's 5'10" and at least 200lbs, and she moves pretty well in those fight scenes. Honesty if I saw the 2 of them walking down the street I think that I'd rather take my chances with Cruise.

Also as @Comeds mentioned she has a strong screen presence. The camera loves her. She always has had that even when she was a very young woman. She just oozes a certain "badass/don't mess with me" gravitas. I'm not pushing it as some great show and I'll probably tire of it before long. But for a broadcast network TV procedural it's entertaining.
