My B1G Power Rankings after Week 1
1. Ohio State (1-0) - Before you point out that the Buckeyes gave up 31 points to Oregon State, Ohio State led 42-7 before halftime.
2. Maryland (1-0) - Anybody who watched knew the Terps had one bad quarter. They also had the biggest win at this point.
3. Wisconsin (1-0) - I don't do ties because those should only be included in votes or stats. The Badgers are right there with Ohio State.
4. Northwestern (1-0, 1-0) - The Wildcats now tops B1G West after beating Purdue. Second quarter was huge for them as they outscored Purdue 17-3.
5. Iowa (1-0) - It took the Hawkeyes a half to get the momentum going with 3-0 halftime lead. But Ferentz gets historic W as they outscore the Huskies 30-3 after the break.
6. Michigan (0-1) - Michigan may have had the toughest opponent for a B1G team in week 1 and still lost by 7. But their rally came a little too late.
7. Purdue (0-1, 0-1) - Outside the one stat that matters most, Purdue had better stats than Northwestern. However, a huge blunder really hurt at the end.
8. Minnesota (1-0) - Minnesota and Rutgers should have destroyed their weak mid-major opponents with their true freshmen QBs, and they did.
9. Rutgers (1-0) - Read Minnesota's again.
12. Indiana (1-0) - You might see a 10-point game vs FIU, which is true, but Indiana did have a 38-14 lead in the 2nd half.
10. Michigan State (1-0) - Which opponent is better? Utah State or Appalachian State? Who cares? Neither MSU and PSU should have been close in the 4th. At least MSU got the W without OT.
11. Penn State (1-0) - Read Michigan State's again.
13. Illinois (1-0) - 7-point W vs a team with 10 total wins over last 4 seasons.
I waited after the first week to post my power rankings to see how they play. Because Nebraska did not play, they are not included in the rankings. I did not forget about Nebraska. Also, I tried to base it off of this week.

Not if they don't find some guys who have hands instead of stumps at WR.Just want to get this off mychest, but I'm thankful that Joe Burrow went to LSU and not land in Lincoln. Man he is going to do very well at LSU.
As I said many times this offseason, the personnel losses at Penn State are going to take a toll this year. Miles Sanders is a decent RB, but he is nowhere close to elite and definitely nowhere close to what Barkley brings. McSorely predictably looked shaky without his OC and several key playmakers. He may get things figured out, but I don't see him being the amazing QB that several people have said he will be. Their defense also obviously has some flaws.
take that horny!Dwayne Haskins is named a Manning Award Star of the Week after setting school records for passing yards and touchdown passes in a debut start.
While Michigan is 0-17 vs ranked opponents on the road since 2007, Wisconsin is 0-12, Penn State is 3-15, and Michigan State is 2-11.
I’m pretty sure 0-17 is based on at the time rankings. I know for a fact that we beat a ranked Michigan last year, ranked Notre Dame in 2016, Ranked Michigan and Ohio State in 2015. That’s off the top of my head. While Michigan is 0-17 vs ranked opponents on the road since 2007, Wisconsin is 0-12, Penn State is 3-15, and Michigan State is 2-11.
Oregon State AD says scheduling Ohio State isn't how he wants to do business
Barnes said the $1.7 million pay-day game that the Beavers played at Ohio State in the season opener -- a 77-31 loss -- isn't how he wants to do business.
"We won't do it this way," Barnes said. "This game was scheduled several years ago... it was a one-off, payday against a perennial top-five team. That's not our philosophy. Our philosophy is that we'll play the middle of the Big Ten, the middle of the Big 12, we'll play a group of five team and a FCS team... building momentum means everything right now."
