Was this in PA? This bear hunting thing has me intrigued. I did not realize that there are bears in PA.

Do they use a lottery for tags?

I got one in Minnesota about 10 years ago on a lottery tag.

Their meat is awesome because they eat a lot of berries. They also make a damn nice rug..

I've never hunted them myself, anyone can though as far as I understand... They are relatively scarce so any kill is pretty special.

I recall a few years back we were hunting whitetail buck w/ a large group of guys... We set up a large drive through the woods w/ 3 shooters sitting on the other end of an open cornfield. 6 guys drove, we took out 2 bucks and had to let a monster black bear go because it was just outside that season.
