There's plenty of fodder still on the 40 man, teams achieve success by building depth throughout the system, and there's nothing that says certain players can't/won't end up at different positions in the long run... Duran and several were mentioned as options to move to the OF long before the spending spree due to our MIF depth

Yes, people will be traded, but we don't have to really jettison anyone quite yet

True true.
I don’t think we will trade a ton of prospects, but I do think we trade a couple/few.

I believe we will sign an OF and a SP still.

I think we will trade for a Catcher

MJ Melendez is my hope.
Bet y’all couldn’t have guessed that haha

I think Yan Gomes is FA fit at catcher, and Myles Straw could be a loy key trade option for CF and possibly a starter

Add a couple bullpen pieces and then seeing how the roster flashes itself out going forward

Then just sort out LF, DH, and 2 starting pitching spots via trade, FA or organizational depth

No desire to send any of our prospects to the A's though

I would have much rather paid Yan Gomez $5 million than Kole Calhoun

I wouldn't mind Kershaw, Suzuki and Gomes

I wouldn’t either but that’s about $20 mil, $11 mil and $5 mil.
$36 mil

I would be happy with that..

I would rather try to get Rodon vs Kershaw on a semi long term deal at $20 or less per year

I think the Rangers broke the hot stove. There hasn't been too much going on around the league this evening.

Yeah good point.
They could have way more up their sleeve.

Via MLB Trade rumors chat
Due to our losing record he does not see us landing anything but second tier.
Excuses perhaps!

I see a lot of articles saying the Rangers are planning to be very active in the FA market. They always mention who they’re probably NOT going after. Who ARE they going after with all that money??

If you're a big-name free agent who gets an offer (even a major offer) from the Rangers, you have to be very confident that the team is on the right track to contend by 2023. Otherwise, you'll get some real second-hand remorse about locking yourself in for at least a few more years of losing baseball when you could've joined a winner.

That's why I tend to think Texas will aim for the second-tier FAs at most. A team like Seattle or even Detroit can better promote itself as being on the cusp of contention, whereas the Rangers just lost 102 games.

Boy was Mark wrong! Haha

I’m “Rangers fan” by the way lol

I think the Rangers broke the hot stove. There hasn't been too much going on around the league this evening.

I think there are players who intended to wait until after the CBA was resolved, but yes the Rangers have bred chaos.

Seeing reports that the Dodgers may make a legit run at Freddie Freeman.

Just read Muncy has torn UCL which is what caused Seager to have the TJ surgery, so he’s probably out all of 2022

This guy sure has a thing for Gallo. I don't want to see him and his 200 average ever in a Rangers uniform again.
Just for the record, he's a lifetime .206 hitter. ha ha ha ha.......But I'm with ya 100%.....It's past time to turn the Gallo page.
