From ESPN:

"The BYU game was considered an embarrassment for Texas, but one that Strong said he saw coming.
One clue: The new head coach's failed motivational ploy. He had signs put up in Texas' locker room displaying stats from last year's game -- like BYU's 550 rushing yards and 679 total yards -- as both a taunting reminder and a test.
"Anywhere else I would've been, some player would've ran through there, tore all that down and probably would've burned it in the locker room," Strong said Monday. "They would've done something with it, ball it up and throw it on the floor. Nobody did nothing.
"And I did it for a reason, just to see what we would do. See if somebody would just get pissed and, if somebody put it up again the next day, if somebody would walk through there and tear it down again."

Dumb. Because he could have easily just have benched the player who tore it down for "not wanting to face up to last year's defeat" or "disrespecting the coaches who put up the posters," etc.

Decent attempt at getting someone pissed off. Seems he wants the players to be angrier than they are. That could be due to all the suspensions.

What that shows to me is that the players are scared of him. There is a world of difference between respect and fear. He has players walking on egg shells. Not good.

exactly. Didn't he punish someone in the spring because they took a poster down? Now he expects to just put stuff up and have people tear them down because they made him mad?

Maybe it isn't just in front of the camera that he doesn't know what he is doing. Seems like he needs to take some leadership 101 courses.

There are so many things wrong with that on so many levels.

Quandre Diggs agreed with Coach Strong, its going to take longer than he thought to change the culture.

Most of the team are Mack Brown guys. Going to take a while before he has the team his way with his players.

Quandre is part of the issue. He talks it, but he doesnt walk it. BYU WRs pushed him all over the field in the run game. He really hasnt grown since his freshmen year. Nothing wrong with what Strong is saying. I think it simply highlights there are no real leaders on Texas, there havent been for years. Right now the players are looking to Strong to and the coaches to lead them, that wont get you titles. They are not afraid. They are simply following

Actually I find nothing wrong with it. As a OU fan I have been extremely pleased with Strong's performance so far.

If they can't pass a motivational test, I wonder what their grades are like?

If your team needs bulletin board material to get up for a game, you might be a texico donghorn.

These players are mentally weak pussies. No surprise here. Been that way since 2010. Once Strong can weed out Mack's shitty players and bring in his own class, things will get better.

Current APR - University of Texas football , perfect score 1000
Mens Hoops also got a 1000 as well.

They got the academics seemingly figured out.

This is the point I've been trying to make to my UT friends. If this guy thinks becoming Charlie the Impaler is going to impress a bunch of men in Texas he's got another think coming. The absolute worst case scenario for Texas would be for a bunch of players to boycott the team. That would make for ugly headlines and some horrid background noise for UT's recruiting. This guy needs to drink a hot cup of Calm The Fuck Down and get back to coaching. He's made his point; if he keeps it up he will invite a rebellion.

I seriously doubt that is the case and, quite honestly, that is an interesting take on the events. He is so feared and players dont like him, but they gave him a Gatoraide bath after the UNT, which I found odd, win to celebrate his first win as the Texas coach.
