No, it’s the other side (your conference) that would need to agree to this.
Why would SEC teams turn down automatic P5 wins? That wouldn't make sense.

It is not in A&M's best interests to play Texas at this time.

If Texas could return to greatness, then the Aggies would go
looking for a game with them, but not now.

They are in the SEC and that gets them style points. It's
a good recruiting tool. Add to that Texas is in the tank. Although
they showed signs of life this past season.

They play Texas and lose, that hurts them in recruiting the state.

They play them annually, they MUST win half the games. If they
stay away from Texas they can claim they are the better program
and that will work with recruits.

If Texas recaptures old glory, then AM would have to beat them
to prove they are better. Public Opinion, at the moment, is on the
side of AM.

"We have no plans to renew the rivalry game at this time for very practical reasons,"

Considering both OOC schedules are set for the next decade, there shouldn't be anything to this revelation. There is no "at this time" to be had.

Plus, fuck Jexas. They like to think their shit don't stink, so let them sit and rot in the shit ass Big 12-ish as the second fiddle. It will do them some good to eat shit for a while. A&M is the better team in the better conference with the better recruiting now. There is literally zero to gain from playing this game again.

Nothing you said in this post was accurate. But for everybody else, this is why the game will never be played again. A&M is scared to death, and will go on rants to prove they aren't. Texas should move on and rekindle the bigger rivalry with Arkansas anyway. Texas/Arkansas has far more history than Texas/a&m

Texas asked because they need the game. A&M said to pound sand because we don't.

Consider it "little brother" telling "big brother" to eat a giant bag of dicks. Take your century of condescension and cuddle up with it and cry while reviewing the LHN shit ratings.

This post shows your complete lack of understanding. Texas sold the rights to the network. When ESPN offered the cash that was probably a surprise to everyone. It’s a royalty payment and doesn’t hinge on viewers. Funny thing is ESPN/Disney is losing their ass on both networks.

I have to ask. Do you seriously really believe that?
