Obviously you are a better gambler than myself, so can you explain this strategy please?

The way I see it:
you lose 1800 if the NE wins.
you lose 3500 if SF wins.
You win 4500 if ALT wins.
You win 6500 if Baltimore wins.

So the most likely scenario is that you lose vcash.
