Cowboys VS Eagles. This is the game that will determine what direction the Eagles are headed for.
The Cowboys have their best receiver on the DL. Their best running back now plays for the Eagles. Bradford
needs to show he can be better in the 1st half of a game. Our offensive line needs to open holes for the backs, and our kicker needs to make the 3 pointers with accuracy. no question the Eagles have offensive weapons. Putting them to use from the start to the finish will provide a victory. The defense will need to cover a little better. The improvement must be noticeable for the Eagles. Without it, we are facing a long season. IMO.

This is a game we are expected to win and should win ... we're at home, no Dez, rivalry game ... If we don't win this one it may be time to hit the early panic button. I think we win by 10 or more. Big game for Murray.

We need to remember that this is entertainment and nothing we do impacts how they play. Silly aspect of fandom is all the fans think of it as "we" and routinely refer to it that way. Hit the panic button really? Like what would that do? In reality its "they". We all delude ourselves that what we think, say or do impacts the game.

Even funnier, is how we delude ourselves into thinking that we are smarter than these guys. If only we were the coach or GM, things would be much better. We somehow know how to correct all their mistakes if only they would read this message board. All of these types are on the board the day after a loss, explaining how if only the coach wasn't an idiot and could see the future like we can, they wouldn't have lost the game..so of course we need to fire him.

Part of the reality of the NFL is its the greatest sport in the world because they have established a very even playing field financially. All but one game this weekend has a betting line of less than a TD. Expect and should win, are true, but in this competitive a league, one bad bounce can tip the scales. All expectations aside, its perfectly within the realm of possibility for the superior team to lose several games against inferior opponents. Simply because the gap between the good and the bad is so slim in the NFL.

The Eagles got a bad bounce or two in Atlanta, and may very well have the same issue against the Cowboys. It doesn't do any good for us to panic. In fact that is downright silly. Its even silly for the team itself to panic. That would be like the Redskins that cut a very good kicker last week because he missed one field goal. If you believe in your guys and what you are doing, you just keep on doing it and figure that with hard work, the luck will eventually roll your way. Kelly clearly has that conviction, and a decent track record over the last two years to back it up.

And who would you rather have? There really is not another coach to come into the NFL over the last few years that is anywhere near as interesting and innovative. The rest of these guys are simply trying to do it the same way everyone else is. That is a recipe for being average...not great.

If Murray doesn't run all over these guys all that money was a mistake. Chip has to get him going.

It's the last 12 that matter. Two losses isn't a dagger but you better go on a hell of a run after it. This team is very good and once Bradford gets comfy we're rolling. Billy Davis or not.

It is early, but a loss would certainly leave the Eagles in a jam at 0-2 with two conference losses to potential playoff rivals. Some people downplayed conference losses last year, but they were the reason we sat home with a 10-6 record.

He was cut because he couldn't put kickoffs in the endzone.

You put a lot of thought into this post. I agree with a lot of what you say. However much is expected of this team. Fans can get impatient. I choose not to panic in the early going. However I will be concerned with anything but a win against Dallas. There will always be fans who are somewhat radical, and if we did not have these boards to sound off we would be doing it at some sports bar or in our living rooms watching the game with friends. The greatest feeling a fan can have is when his team wins. Whether it is against an inferior or superior team makes no difference.

We're going to steamroll the cowgirls, and everyone will be back to talking SB after Sunday.

I disagree. Look at the schedules. Both the Eagles and Dallas are much harder early. With Dez out, we need to take advantage by winning early.

We lose this and then go 8-1 we're in a good place. We win this and go 6-3 we're at the same place but a better grove at the end with the 8-1.

I don't think there's any way we lose this one. Just pointing out it's a long season and how you play at the end is much more important than the beginning.

Of course, if you go 12-0 over the last 3/4ths of the season, it doesn't matter what you to do to start. but...that's not realistic. Every game matters and this team needs to win this game or it will be in an early hole.

By the way, Dez may now be out 10-12 weeks according to reports.

I'm neither a child nor an idiot ... I fully understand this, but thanks for pointing it out to me. Now I can move on with my life.

Looks like we miss facing Dez twice this season. However, we do face Hardy and Gregory the next game v.s Dallas.
