comparing any teams hire to that of Arizona State is going to make that teams hire look better.
with that said, Sumlin wouldn't have lasted as long as he did at Texas AM if it weren't for Manziel being a star that one game vs Alabama.
Sumlin > CristobalThe PAC will eat him up.

So other than a Cotton Bowl win vs OU, what exactly did Sumlin do at A&M that was worth a sh1t?
You can say a lot of that about Nick Saban before he went to LSU or Dantonio before he went to Michigan State.Nothing really. He had that one good season and that was it. I read that out of his 56 wins at Aggy, 23 of those came against FCS teams and mid majors. Not winning conference titles, not competing for NC's, winning 8 games a year and going to shit bowls will be just fine in Tucson. They have ZERO expectations out there. They are a basketball school first and foremost.
What does Nick Saban have to do with Sumlin? You can say a lot of that about Nick Saban before he went to LSU or Dantonio before he went to Michigan State.
A coach who didn’t really do shit at a P5 conference and got paid a top 3 salary at a dying P5 program that turned out to be half way decent. What does Nick Saban have to do with Sumlin?
This is a good point tho.
Sumlin is going to pad that schedule with cake.......that's what he did at aggy
They'll be guaranteed damn near 8 wins a year

He’ll also be in a significantly easier division.I think Aggy also averaged like 8 home games every year or would play a non conference game in Houston every now and then. Not sure he'll be able to pull that off in the Pac.....
He’ll also be in a significantly easier division.
He won't come close to recruiting at Zona as he did at TAMU.He’ll also be in a significantly easier division.
yes but HIS team will be less talented, and I'll believe he's an ace recruiter when he proves it.
His classes weren't all that impressive at A&M outside of a billion WRs and 5 star QBs he couldn't keep on the roster
There will be that as well.He won't come close to recruiting at Zona as he did at TAMU.
Sumlin seems to go places that are in pretty good shape when he gets there. Briles left a good group at UH. Sherman left an all world offensive line at A&M.On the contrary...the Pac12 is made for him and he's getting a QB made for him.
He could cause some serious commotion next year in that league.
