OK - All you college football gurus - what do you think of this guy? positives? negatives?

How does he compare to Tebow? ..... Just kidding. Please don't.

I read a college article on him. I can see why Kelly wants to take a look. No where near ready to play though.

Do you have a link? What attributes do you think attract Kelly? In what ways is he not ready?

I have no problem with Morris, since he has great athletic ability, although i'm a little surprised that Chip didn't go for Renner, or Davis. that said, Morris has more upside, and Chip was looking for the most talented QB that he can mold.

My shock was that he didn't like Rasheed Bailey as much as everyone else did.

One guy loved Morris in 2013. He's a project at best but in Chip we trust.

Not a bad idea to kick the tires for a few weeks. If Kelly doesn't like what he sees he can always sign Tebow again.

He could have just as easily though kept Goode on the 53 and sign this guy to the practice squad.

Can't hit receivers in stride-sub 60% sounds eerily familiar.

Yeah. A poor Man's Tim Tebow. Just not as fast, or as tough, or as experienced, or as clutch, or as trained....Oh wait. The Poor man can have Tim Tebow.

Yeah I'm bitter.

He has mechanical issue and is really raw I believe he has been in 4 different offenses in the past 5 years so no help there. Hes a 3rd stringer with upside but no sure thing, but talent is there, but he wouldnt be in the NFL if he didnt have talent.

I don't know where you get that he's not as fast as Tebow. Tebow isn't fast, my friend. Strong, Yes,but not fast.
The point is, not to have a veteran as the 3rd QB, but one with talent that needs grooming. If it doesn't work out, then there are other young guys n the market that chip can take a shot at, but if not, then he will draft one next year. Tebow is not coming back. Get used to it.

Morris has a great arm with an effortless motion and 4.63 wheels and an Offense in Philly which fits his game. All he needs is seasoning which he will get under Chip; I'm on board with this move. Tebow on the other hand has a below average pro arm which limits the receiver routes you can call for him. He's a fade thrower; anytime you need to make dart/long sideline throws ... he can't make them because there simply isn't enough arm there. Anytime you need to squeeze a pressure pass into traffic he can't do it because there isn't enough zip. That's why Chip is willing to go with a raw kid like Morris ... as long as the tools are there you can mold him.

As far as speed goes, Morris is faster than Tebow. 4.63 as compared with Tebow's 4.71; plus Tebow has gained 10-12 lbs since then and is noticeably slower than he was as a rookie.

If you recall his days at the U, you could see his athletic ability. Chip knows what he's doing.

If he develops under Chip, then he could replace Sanchez in a year or two, and Sanchez could be trade bait.

I suspect the qb situation is fairly fluid. A dozen or so qb s are cut and I can see Kelly sniffing around a few of them before he settles.
