Evgeni Nabokov is the first goalie since 2003 to play 65 plus games in the regular season and make it to the 3rd round of the playoffs

Interesting.. I wonder how much more playoff success Marty would have had over the last decade had they utilized his backup goalies.

I'm really not surprised by this. Nor am I surprised that Brodeur's the last one to have done it. He was 30 at that point so playing 73 games wasn't as big of a deal as it is now. He's 38, time to lighten the workload to around 60-65 at the most. You just can't play 75 in your late 30s and be ready for the extra level the opposing team will bring their game to for the dance.

Although, last year with his injury he only appeared in 31 and was *rested* for the playoffs and look how well that turned out. haha What so I know..
