I don't even understand why people keep thinking Luke is Kylo Ren. Doesn't one of the trailers show Ren with his mask off (revealing Adam Driver)? If not, I'm positive there's set photos of him in costume.

At one point, and I think it was a while back, there was a rumor that Luke vanished because he had turned to the darkside. I'm guessing some folks aren't up to speed on the latest and greatest rumors/facts.

George Lucas writing the script, choosing all the actors, and having dictatorship control over every aspect of the production was also why it sucked donkey balls. It was a disaster. I consider Phantom Menace to be one of the top 5 worst movies of all time. Especially because he had a mountain of source material to use and still proceeded to fuck it up.

"jar jar" does mean "too much" in Gungan. I never knew what "Binks" meant, until now...

I sort of agree but sort of disagree. I definitely agree that it could have and should have been much better. But I still think a bad Star Wars movie is better than the vast majority of movies. I'm definitely in this camp. It's shortcomings are very apparent but I still found it enjoyable.

Or... Luke started a new Jedi Order, many of the students (including Kylo Ren or whatever he used to be called) were susceptible to the darkside or otherwise not up to the standards of what the New Republic was wanting from a new Jedi Order and then Luke exiled himself in shame OR to try and master the Force before trying to teach others a second time.... holy run-on sentence, Batman.

Pretty much, Liam Neeson and Ewan McGregor were not bad despite that. Even Natalie Portman at least tried. Darth Maul had like 15 minutes of screen time and triple the time for Jar Jar and a child actor is a real puzzling decision to say the least.

For me, the best thing about the prequels was McGregor's portrayal of Obi Wan. I'd love to see an Obi Wan movie.

Leia, Kyle Ren and the black guy all have sabers while Han and the girl have muggle weapons. If we are to read into that, the black guy is, in fact, one with the force while the girl is not. I thought we were supposed to think the opposite going in.
