but yeah, i don't agree with the continued wussification of sports. it's the age old slippery slope. what's next? cages for the pitchers? full body armor cause collins took one in the neck a couple days ago? maybe beepers telling outfielders they're going to collide either with a wall or each other? people get hurt doing things they either love or get paid a lot of money for ... or both!. always been and always will be.

That second slot in the postseason is pretty important. The Sox are a decent road team, but they thrive at home. Nothing quite starting the playoffs in your own backyard. This can only happen if they finish in the top 2.

Going for the broom job today, but it's not gonna be easy. Cease v Irvin. Haven't seen the latter pitch, but from glancing at his stats, he gives his team innings. I suspect that Cease will need to have one of his better outings for us to take the A's four straight.
