maybe there was a good reason the cubs let ricky go when they did?

I would at least like to hear an explanation before condemning his decision. But on paper, this arrangement looks awful. I'd love to hear why Ricky bats Delmonico 2nd and Garcia 9th, especially when the latter killed it yesterday. I'd like to know why Ricky thinks lining up four straight R/H hitters in a season where relievers have to face a minimum of three batters is what's best for the team. And would it kill him or the Sox PR staff to kick out a quick line about why Moncada is sitting after just two days? There may well be strategic and logical reasons for all this, but on face value, I sure don't see them.

I don't know why he was saying Nicky was hitting 2. I looked right after that post and Engel is playing. Hitting 8th.

Unless you have an even more updated lineup than what was posted in the article, I see no mention of Engel at all - that is, not in the revised lineup. Here it is again:

Leury is moved up. No Nicky. Eloy hitting 2nd. I don't know where he got Nicky hitting 2nd from.

And no... Ricky has reportedly been at odds with the analytics staff on the Sox with the lineup card. His logic is that it's 1982 in his brain.

Some might point to the fact that he was solid in 2/3 of his starts. But that's beyond unacceptable.

I only recall Lopez looking consistently sharp around the first 5-6 weeks right after the AS break. For a while there he was our top starter, doing even better than Giolito. But then, just like much of the first half of the season, he started falling apart again later on to close out the year. Lopez way more often than not comes out strong the first few innings, then starts to implode and often can't even finish the 5th. That has to change this year and if not, he either goes to the pen or becomes trade bait.
