The Red Sox are in town for three games, and given their roster's current condition, the Bucs have a good chance to win another series and continue their procession to the postseason.

Morton on the hill today, and looked pretty sharp in his first inning of work. The Bucs hit the ball pretty hard in the bottom half of the frame, but a nice play by Napoli robbed Snider of extra bases, and Cutch's line drive was hit so right at Cespedes that I'm fairly certain he didn't even move to catch it.

Martin crushed a home run to right-center, and the Bucs are up 2-0.

Barmes is probably playing his last couple here as a major-leaguer, but the man sure can still pick it at short.

Probably one of the best fielding shortstops of his generation.

He was always slick. And he was definitely in the conversation for best defensive shortstop of his generation. Defensively, he's a lot like Jack Wilson was, relying on getting the ball out of his glove quickly to boost his defensive value. No crow-hops for Clint, just catch and release, always accurate.

He painted with a 97 mph cutter. That's just unfair.

Yeah he does. Quick question was he called up before Sept 1? If not I don't think he is eligible for the post season.

He was sharp. Pounded the edges of the strike zone most of the night. His sinker and curve both had really good bite to them. Credit goes to the Red Sox hitters for the number of pitches he threw. They were patient and fouled a lot of pitches off.

i think they can DL someone - like gomez or pimentel - and then add holzy.

Ya for everyone not on the 25 or DL they can make a spot for em if in the organization anywhere at the deadline.

I think they need to DL a few people to make room for Cole, Locke and Polanco(if they want him), because of the option games they played at the end of July.

Frankie's throwing to what looks to be a pretty small strike zone in the first. Ball three to Craig especially looked like it was right down the middle and called a ball.

He got the benefit of a bad call in the next at bat, though, so I guess it kind of evens out.

That Polanco home run got out of the ballpark in a hurry. Very well struck. And the Bucs are on the board 1-0.

The top part of the zone doesn't appear to be in play for the pitchers tonight. That's where Liriano's strike-looking balls missed, and a couple to Cutch up in the zone looked pretty good, too, but were called balls.

Barmes smoked that ball, two-run double.

Looking good against Buccholz early.
