I think most would agree that FSU is in the playoff if undefeated (whether it be 1, 2, 3, or 4) so not really concerned with AP or Coaches Poll right now.


Mississippi State probably deserves some consideration at #1, but even if they don't get it this week, they definitely have shown that they are serious this year.

ESPN will be pushing for Florida State so they can advertise it. They definitely won't be pimping the SEC to be #1 the next week.

I agree, based on what Mississippi State has done the past three weeks, against three what were at the time, Top Ten teams, Mississippi State deserves it.

So far, Florida State has beaten three completely defeated in the ACC Conference teams the past three weeks. Syracuse, Wake Forest, and North Carolina State are 0-7 in the ACC.

That right there is 100% correct. Miss st. plays Kentucky next week, not exactly a matchup worth promoting. You have the #1 team going against an undefeated, highly ranked ND who has a huge national following. They are going to promote the hell out of that game and fight to keep FSU as #1. FSU also has a primetime matchup on ESPN the following week against Louisville the following week as well, while Miss. st plays Arky. So its a tough call if they will be #1 within the next 2 weeks. You can bet your ass that if both teams stay undefeated, Miss St. will be ranked #1 for the Bama game on the 15th.

I should also add, while I do have a strong anti-SEC bias, they do deserve that top spot. They are a tough team, and the schedule they have played has proven it.

zero pressure? Prime time games this week against competition. Miss St. just beat the #2 team while being ranked #3 knowing every tv in the country would be checking in at one point. How is that not pressure?

Even as the #3 team in the country, there was a ton of doubt about them being legit.


Everyone in the country would not have been surprised if both Miss teams gacked it today.


Winning again finally legitimized their seasons.


Now, they have to deal with the pressure of being EXPECTED to win.


It is no longer the easy breezy nice story about plucky Mississippi teams.


Winning once is an upset, winning again makes the world take notice.

Beating LSU on the road, TAMU and Auburn 3 straight weeks is insane.

The LSU and A&M win don't look as good as they once did, don't they each have only one conference win.
