for how much longer? If the teams leaving for the Big East would have stayed in the MWC merger or whatever, i would imagine they had a better chance at becoming an AQ conference.

You clearly have no idea just how bad the bottom and middle of the MWC are.

Half the conference, including those teams coming in, are ranked 80 or lower.

With several over 100 and a couple in the 90's. Outside of BSU what powerhouse does the MWC have? The MWC is what the WAC was with BSU.

The BE with BSU, Houston and SMU has WAY MORE chance of KEEPING AQ than the MWC has of getting it. It isn't even close.

Add to it the TV money has a MUCH bigger impact on the bottom line than AQ status.
