i am one of the few who believe this will get done . however i will put my prediction /opinion capitol on the line and say a LTD will get done by 17 july

see i have a warm and fuzzy about this . KC is having a new baby and wont want to uproot the family , he likes his teammates and his coach and he is in a system that fits . it makes sense for him and the team . he could hold out , of TC or OTAS if he wanted to then sign his tag at the last possible minute but he did not .

i believe danny will see that signing him to a market value contract is in his best interest and if he is smart he can draft his shiny new toy qb without having to give up draft capitol and its a win/win for him .

if KC plays great , he will be the man who closed the deal and made the skins a contender , if KC fails then he can get out from the contract by year 3 while shiny toy get groomed and even gets PT under his belt

so i believe that it will get done

now i have been a real asshole to one deanpet21 this is kind of an olive branch to him so he can say he was right and i was wrong about this issue , he can even throw a few jabs at me and when/If we do this all again in 2018 he can say i was wrong before

and of course every poster will KNOW where i stand and i cant run from the truth

No clue how to feel. I am holding out hope it will still happen. To me it seems silly not to do it but I don't sign the checks or make the decisions.

For the record, if I could get hold of Dannys Check Book, I would be more than willing to let you sign his name. I think I would even enjoy having a collective group of posters here, hand Kirk said check. :D

This may be the biggest reason why a deal does get done. Because if we know one thing, it's that Dan is vindictive. I don't think he could stand to see KC go to San Fran under Kyle and succeed. He might pay a kings ransom just to stop Kyle from getting his guy.

You're wrong Skinsdad,, a deal does not get done and he plays the full year on tag. Dean is wrong too when he thinks he's traded before the deadline.

"Do either of these two things happen?

"outlook no so good"

and we all know magic 8 ball neva lie... do it pops.

I hope I am wrong, and we get him signed to a fair deal, but I agree with Rep.

Short of a HUUUGE contract, I think Kirk rolls the dice again, plays on the tag, and kicks the can down the road so he can maximize his career earnings and get courted heavily next offseason. That might stoke his ego and his "need" to be wanted (sounds like your girlfriend don't it).

He will only get one big contract during his career (because of his late blooming and age). But he could get a $120-$180 million dollar contract next year. And retire in late 30's with a quarter billion in the bank.

Again. Why does any player sign this season? Security. That is why guaranteed money is so important.

Sounds like a soap opera.

I mentioned it before but somewhere in the neighborhood of $125-$130M with $60M plus guaranteed should do it!

Well we should know in about six days if they offer that and if he accepts. If not... the soap opera continues

At this point I don't think its up to the Skins front office. I think Kirk is fed up with Danny and Allen, and will choose to play on the tag and move on next season.

Agent’s Take: Here's what it will cost Redskins to get Kirk Cousins' deal done

Not sure if this was posted elsewhere, but this is a good breakdown on the current situation. The suggested contract (towards the end of the article) sounds fair enough. If (as suggested in this article) Cousins' agent asks for the Luck guaranteed money AND the guaranteed tag money from this offseason (about $101M total) then he & Cousins are basically being assholes & Cousins claim about this not being about the money is total BS (let's just hope that this is a negotiating ploy and just a rumor).

One good take from this article is that most negotiations of this type come down to the 11th hour - so there is still hope (& hoping Skinsdad is rt).
