Tony Bennett has Virginia playing well right now. They are 12-1 in their last 13 games losing only to Duke at Cameron. From where they were after losing to Wisconsin and scoring only 38 points in early December to weber they are now????? He gets my vote.

They very well could take the ACC regular season title, (hope not), if they do he should get coach of the year plain and simple.

Barnes has two tough road games this week, Iowa State and Kansas. Win one of those, and beat OU, he'd have to jump up to #1 or #2 on the COTY list

I have absolutely no problem with Bennett getting the nod if VA has the best record in regular season play in the ACC.

I know the decision is made prior to the NCAA Tournament, but when is the vote for COY?

Not one mention of Mick Cronin in the thread?

The disrespect is disgusting.

Way too early to get bent out of shape over this.

I don't disrespect Cronin. And for sure disgusting is way over the top....when your player or coach is in the running, we all see our boyz as the best.

I always have my Orange goggles on. With a little vodka....they go with the beer goggles rather nicely.

No, it's pretty disgusting to read about inferior players, coaches, and teams on a supposed sophisticated/educated college basketball forum. The Bearcats are one of the best teams in the country. The AAC is one of the best conferences in the country. No mentions from anyone other than me. Lets talk about Virginia, though. Lets talk about Wisconsin all day. It pisses me off.

You questioned his leadership. I pretty much owned you with that video clip.

Can't say I agree you own anything, that said, that interview was done last year after the courtside brawl that his players were involved and that was really Cronin speaking to the University begging to keep his job. He sounded real sincere, after the fact; however properly coached players don't act like that and that incident should not have happened. If you are happy with him as your team's coach; I'm happy for you...just stated his style of leadership is not my cup of tea. I have watched several of Cincinnati's games and he acts like someone stole his pacifier. Sure glad Florida has a coach that knows how to keep his objectivity and his players focused on the game.

1) I'm interested to know who on that list of coaches are inferior.

2) When I said we all look at our teams through our own teams colors....You top that list of homers. UC is good, but far from dominating. Of that list of coaches, UC playing those teams, how many wins would UC get?

This year's performance by UC has losses to SMU, Xavier and NM which are good enough teams, but not world beaters by anymeans.

Kilpatrick at 20.1 ppg's and jackson's 11.4 ppg are the only two players averaging double digits. Everyone else is 7 ppg's or less. Kilpatrick has an assist to turnover ratio of 1.4....which sucks for a guard. He may be a scoring machine, but he doesn't involve anyone but himself.

Being a homer is one thing....but getting over the top pissed isn't gonna work. You're team will earn respect on the court...not on chat boards.

They also have wins at Lou, Mem, and a neutral Pitt. Also beat UConn.

SMU is a very good team btw. Their home court advantage is probably the best in the country. I'm sure you didn't realize that, though.

I think they'd have trouble with Cuse and Florida and handle everyone else rather easily.

Those are good teams as well. Someone else will shoot holes in those wins...it's what I mean by not letting fans get to you. We all think our team is the best.

Man that is a good list of teams. I think everyone of them "could" beat the cuse. Sure, I'd bet my vcash every game on the cuse, but I wouldn't want to see the Cuse run six games in the dance with any six of the ten in that group.

I think, of the teams on that list, UC is the most familiar with them. They're the exact same type of team too. Great D, shit O. I'd say they'd both win on their home courts against each other. Neutral floor would come down to who pulled the most 3's out their asses.
