I'm a homer for sure, but I have to give it to Coach JB this year.

sorry jonvi but syracuse being elite this year isn't unexpected. SDSU and Texas being where they are is about as shocking as it gets.

Greg Marshall 1st is a joke, that team should have been expected to go undefeated in the MVC.

I think if Iowa wins B1G and wins a couple games at the Big Dance, I think Fran should definitely be considered. But at this point, I think Iowa has dropped too many big games for Fran to be top 10.

I think JB should be #1 right now

SU was ranked 12 - 15 at the beginning of the year....as a gift.

SU comes off a season of losing their 3 leading scorers, both gurards....MCW and Brandon Triche...and lost their leading scorer in Joseph. MCW was the #4 draft pick and both joseph and Triche are playing in Europe.

The season before SU lost Scoop Jardine and Dion Waters (lottery) and Melo.

This year SU started a true freshman and a Sophomore at Guard. Cooney didn't sniff much of the court last year with MCW and Triche there.

SU was far from being projected elite. What Boeheim has accomplished this season winning the last 2 games with a 6 man rotation.....no coach has done more with less? And I almost forgot...to date an undefeated season.

MVC was a joke before Creighton left. They're an even bigger joke now.

Texas lost its top 4 scorers from last year. Had other impact players leave or transfer as well.

Not only were we not expected to be ranked - We were not expected to make the Tourney - And we were picked to finish near the bottom of the Big 12.

Now we are ranked, basically a shoe in for the tourney, and competing for a Big 12 Title. May be Barnes best coaching job to date.

Timmy should crack the top 10 if we win a few more..

Zona coach should be up there too

Id give it to either hate Creighton so much, but couch McD would get my vote

Right off the top I'd remove any coaches from Florida, Mich, Duke, Ohio St, UCLA, Kentucky, UNC and Kansas.

These schools have Top 10 recruiting classes EVERY year. There ought to be consideration for under achieving coaches. Teams like Iowa, Nebraska and Creighton do more with way less every year.

I don't think you could argue FIsher or Barnes winning it.

That is a great list and I like the number 10 guy; Tony Bennett. Virginia at the beginning of the season was not very good; now they are excellent. If Syracuse beats Virginia; I have to go with Boeheim; in spite of Jonvi's excessive "homering" LOL. Was liking Sean Miller because I thought that Arizona was playing great basketball to the point where the "whole was greater than the sum of it's parts"....now not so good.

Homer alert:

Rick Muthafuckin Barnes

I, along with every other Orangeblood wanted him fired last year or the year before. Now, he's doing his best coaching job since his 1st year at The 40 Acres.....

Not one mention of Mick Cronin in the thread?

The disrespect is disgusting.

Agree with that completely, really didn't expect Syracuse to do shit this year with our losses but we do tend to be ranked consistently so I also agree with the opposing view.

Like what Texas and Virginia were able to do for sure.

Feisty little guy; not my cup of tea. Don't like his attitude. Can he coach? short run the answer is yes...long run don't think his overbearing manner is good leadership. I could be wrong; just how I see it.

Tony Bennett has Virginia playing well right now. They are 12-1 in their last 13 games losing only to Duke at Cameron. From where they were after losing to Wisconsin and scoring only 38 points in early December to weber they are now????? He gets my vote.
