There's a lot to be said about a guy once he's been through hell and back, but one thing that cannot be said is that his work does not speak for itself. This is true of coaches no matter what the turmoil they've faced. That said my candidate is 63 years old, but brings a wealth of experience, a lot of success and the promise that players will rarely be out of position on the squad that he heads......his name...Butch Davis.

With candidates like Wade Phillips and possibly Jim Schwartz in their crosshairs, it really couldn't hurt to send out feelers to determine what level of interest Davis has in returning to the NFL.

Dude actually requested to be carried off the field when he came back as DC in Buffalo when they beat the Lions. That's right, a defensive coordinator asked to be carried off the field when his team beat the Detroit Lions in a regular season game in October.
