Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain
With 1.5MM for first place winnings and a 3 year tour exemption, I would think it could qualify.
Thoughts?

No.
Golf is a tradition based sport...imo adding a 5th major, particularly an event that's been on tour for 30 yrs as a non major would screw up the history.
The players had an association with a major before they decided to break off from the PGA of America. Once the tour got established, the players have wanted to run a major badly.
I like the Players for what it is...a 2nd tier heavyweight event.

IMO they do need to tweak the fedex cup finish.
In the 4 events of the FedEx cup, someone could go
Win, Win, Win, 2nd and not win the FedEx Cup
IDK that...if so that does need to be tweaked....again.
Head to head matches at some point. Even, stroke play.
Right now, if you are in the top 5 going into the Tour Championship and you win it, you win the fedex.
