(1) Alabama

Offense: 16
Defense: 11

(17)Missouri

Offense: 95
Defense: 16

Alabama: Coming off a win against Auburn in the Iron bowl were the defense gave up 456 passing yards.

Missouri: A come from behind win against Arkansas.

----- I'm expecting another shoot out, but wouldn't be surprised if Bama won by at least 10.

If Im looking at this right, Mizzou is +9 in turnover margin for the season and Alabama is -2.

So Mizzous defense, Alabamas defense and Alabamas offense are all good but not dominant. Mizzous offense is bad but not awful. Mizzou probably needs to win the turnover margin by 2 to win, imo.

That '16' for Alabamas offense is a bit misleading. In terms of offensive efficiency, they are right there with Oregon as the best in College Football. In terms of field position, they stink so it pushes things back a bit.

SEC refs will ensure that there is a team in the playoff. No way Bama loses

Bud Sasser is Alabama's only legit worry in this game. Alabama shut down Auburn's rush attack, hence why Auburn decided to go long and hope all night, especially in the 2nd half.

If the game is even close at the beginning, the refs will make sure that Bama takes a decisive lead. Then, they will make some "make up" calls at the end after the game is out of hand.

Arkansas defense was pretty good and Mizzou eventually got some yards in and started gashing in the 4th. The problem I see is that Mizzou doesnt have anyone for Amari Cooper on the other side and I dont see Mizzou winning a shootout because of that. They need to keep the score down, force a couple of turnovers, maybe get some good returns out of Murphy and get their TFLs from Ray and Golden.

Much like Georgia a couple of years back in the SEC champ game, Mizzou needs their dline to beat Alabama's oline. The whole game pretty much starts at that point. The teams that beat Mizzou are the ones that can run or screen against the defensive pressure. Everything kinda falls apart if the pressure doesn't get there...but more often than not it does.

Interesting.

Based on that hypothesis, we'll see one of the following after the game:

"Bama was overrated!"
- if Mizzou beats Bama, barely or by a lot
"Mizzou got jobbed by corrupt zebras!" - if Bama barely beats Mizzou

- or -

<silence> if Bama blows out Mizzou

... (except for ElTexan, who will still insist on blaming corrupt zebras)

If the view is that jaded from under your tin foil hat, why do you even watch cfb? Is that all that is on tv in the common room during quiet hour?

Alabama will run it at Missouri's defense just like Georgia did. Who knows if Missouri's offense can put up enough points on the board to make it a game.

Alabama's rushing offense isnt as good as Georgia's, though. Mizzou's 2 losses are to teams who average 6 yards a run. Bama averages 5 yards a run which is closer to Arkansas.

Point. Bama's O-line is still too young and inexperienced to consistently open the good running lanes.

We're a West Coast Offense. Don't get me wrong, we love to run, but the whole point of the West Coast is short passes to make up for the run.

WCO takes awhile to get down, too. Its possible that Bama is just starting to hit its stride on offense as scary as that is

I have no doubt that Mizzou is the underdog but they still have to play the game

the refs will keep it at about a 17 point game in favor of bama. No close game....no blow out

Well, if you can shut down an up and coming bowl eligible FBS program just for the hell of it, you can probably influence a couple refs here and there
