Wow what a slate of games for sports fans today

1 pm - Mariners vs Astros (Iwakuma's first start)

3 game 7s (Pacers-Hawks, Thunder-Grizz, Clippers-Warriors)

Mayweather fight

And lastly Sounders vs Union

Sounders will look to make it 4 wins in a row. Philly is one of the worst teams in the league (only 1 win on the year) so I expect an easy victory at home

Lets go Sounders!

Be nice to pick up as many points as we can the next few weeks. I think World Cup friendlies start at the end of the Month so we will be down Dempsey and possibly Yedlin and Evans for those. Not sure what the team will look like in that stretch so important to make the most of the next few games.

Gonzalo Pineda is easily my least favorite player on the Sounder's roster

Another nice W.

We've now won 4 in a row. After 9 games into the season, Sounders are now sitting in 1st place in the west with 19 points.

Wow why is Alonso taking the penalty over Dempsey!?!?

Sigi said after the game it was to celebrate Alonso having a kid or announcing he was going to have one or something. Seemed a bit odd to me as a reason to let him do a PK, but that's what he said. :noidea:

soccer huh...... interesting

We lost our basketball team and our baseball team hasn't breached .500 in a decade. Give us a break. We'd probably watch just about anything that has winning in it round these parts.

Well except the womans basketball team. I think they won titles and shit and no one watched them. Who knows, maybe it's all that coffee we drink.

It seemed like at half time it would be one those games where it just wasnt meant to be. Hit the post on two shots including a missed PK. Good to see the rally, it seems like coming back to tie the game in Portland really sparked the momentum for this team. Been on fire since.

Soccer can be an entertaining sport to watch when the product is good. For years the MLS product has been very mediocre (and I will say 1/3 of the league still is), but the talent has improved drastically. In particular, the Sounders have given us a product really worth watching.

I mean I'm a soccer fan regardless, I've been watching and attending Sounders game when there were only 5000 people in the stands. The Portland Timber aren't doing so well this year, but I'm sure if you followed them last year you would've gotten into the sport. The crowd and atmosphere for a sold out soccer game where fans are actually into it is quite an experience.

Plus I'm sure all of us here are just big fans of sports. If we had the NHL here we'd definitely be on the bandwagon as well.

Anyone here remember Mark Peterson of the Sounders?

He lived next door to me as a kid, I lived at 1912 No. Madison, in Tacoma, his address mustave been 1914.
We even played on same soccer team, although being over a year younger, was not developed enough to stay on Sams Diggers.
