Thomas can be a game changer for any team that runs a predominately base Cover-3 defense. He's still in his prime. Only time will tell how he ages though. Earl really could take a team looking for a safety over the top, no pun intended.

The Chargers would be happy to take Thomas

210 Draft chart points, (equivalent to #12 in Round 3), would be my valuation. he's a good player but he's a 1-year rental at a salary discount of about $2.2M. I'm not convinced he'd have a huge influence on the Cowboys W/L record. S just isn't a primary impact position.

Hypothetical: What if I said the Seahawks sign Mathieu, how would Seahawks fans react?
That would mean that Earl has been or will be traded.

but to answer your question Id be happy.

I am sure Seattle is looking for draft picks with what they have given away in some of their past trades. How many rounds are their this year that they dont have a pick?

Someone will bite.
Probably

But at what cost is the question?

Time will tell. I wish NE needed a S. But they don't plus they just signed Jason McCourty who can play both S and CB.

They hold all the cards here. Pay them what they want and he is yours.

We dont need to trade him

Shit in one hand and wish in the other. Dallas won't give up their first. Take Dez.

Or teams can wait a year and get him for nothing thru FA
Seattle will have gobs of cap room in `19. They can FT him and own his rights for the next 2 years.

Not a chance in hell that happens. Jerry doesn't call the shots anymore. Not giving up a 1st and a big contract.

I don't think you realize truly how good Earl is, and he wants to be a Cowboy, we all know that... He would be a MASSIVE upgrade for you guy's ... And he's only 28 years old .. personally I don't want him to leave, but if you seriously don't think he's worth a 1st, HE IS!!! You're not drafting anyone as good as Earl in the 1st round this year that will make an impact like Earl, dude goes sideline to sideline like the road runner....

So give up a 1st rounder for a player that might be gone in a year?
