Earl Thomas would be a good fit with Dallas or any team really. If it takes a 1st to get him then that'll be worth it.

Earl is the best safety in football, I stand by that, I've watched him since day 1, he's ridiculous ...
I know you're a superfan, but he was rated as the 9th best safety in football last year. His days of being top dog are behind him.

I disagree, no one covers ground like Earl, no one has the instincts of Earl, no one goes sideline to sideline like Earl reading play's ... He's the best and it's got nothing to do with me being a super-fan, I watch the guy play every week, I see what he does every week ...

And you see it through the eyes of the superfan. What you don't do is watch the other guys I mentioned or any other safeties for that matter. Saying what you're saying just shows off your bias. You watching him every week doesn't mean he's the best, you're not a voice of authority on the topic. You're just a fan.

I'd take the 9th best safety in the NFL in Dallas.

That's a much higher rank than their current safety unit.

Not if you're giving up a 1st rounder and could possibly only have him for 1 year.

not really....Dallas drafts have been very good. Taco is to be determined and Jones is playing out of position.

I've been less than impressed with both of those.

I had high hopes for Jones.

I think they shot their wad with the O line....

you're right but if Dallas gets Earl, I'm pretty darn sure he'd resign with Dallas.
Any other team and I'd expect Earl to work his way to Texas a year from now.
Does Dallas have that kinda cap room?

Being a Niner fan, I HATE the seahawks, so I'm not seeing through the eyes of a fan.

Imo, Thomas spent 3 or 4 years as the unquestionably best safety in the NFL. 8 years in the NFL. 6 PBs, 5 times either 1st or 2nd team All Pro. He is still amazing. He's still a top 3 safety in the NFL by any rational analysis, and a good argument can be made that he's still the best. From his play in 2017, he'll remain a top 3 safety for another 2-3 years imo.

No. And they sure as hell won't next year when both Zack Martin and D.Lawrence will need gigantic contracts.

Would take any PFF rating about safeties with a great deal of skepticism. Can get in the neighborhood, but they can have some voodoo like results.

More than one team in Texas...and there may be more money elsewhere.
