It pretty much lived up to its billing. After a hit & miss opening he really warmed to the task and fell right into all of his old characters like he'd never left. His Gumby bit during weekend update was worth the price of admission.. I was rolling.

Love Maya Rupdolph's Kamala Harris impression too. She just nails the attutude.. I wonder how Harris feels about it.

One of the best Weekend Updates in recent memory.

Mr Robinson's Neighborhood was my favorite skit by a mile but Murphy is good enough that he can power through an average skit just fine. He could just bust out 'Single Ladies' and it'll be catchier than the actual song.

Mckinnon's Pelosi impression is also surprisingly good.

Its crazy how much the quality of SNL fluctuates from week to week. The J Lo week is one of the worst Ive ever seen

I haven’t watched in a few years, but I watched this one. Eddie was good, but there was one sketch (forget which) that he single handedly MANGLED.

Black Jeopardy is probably the sketch if I had to guess.

Was it that or the cooking show?? I don’t remember the details. I just remember him totally flubbing his lines.

The cooking show seemed fine, IIRC, although I think SNL has done that exact same skit before which seems a bit strange to me.

It was a repeat sketch. Exact same premise with the same punchline the cakes being progressively worse and one of them being alive.

Yes, that was painful. The big comedic "hook" they tried to build everything around was how good she looks for her age... which, while true, is not even a little bit funny. It was embarrassing.. and I've always sort of liked her as a personality. But I couldn't take it and flipped to something else.

That was my issue with it, too. I think they had 3 skits about J Lo being hot? 4? Its barely funny enough to run one skit with that premise, tbh

Yeah, he does a good job. I hope they do Tuesday's debate in their cold open.

I'm not sure Mulaney gets into the political skits

I look forward to his next musical skit

I haven’t watched a full episode in years, but I caught a blurb about Paul Rudd getting the “5-Timer” treatment last night. I read that Hanks, Martin and Fey were the primary “welcomers”.

Where was Alec Baldwin? He normally takes part in the 5-Timer festivities, doesn’t he? I wonder why he was a no show. Is something going on with him right now?

I have the DVD of the Christmas skits. Watched parts last night, specifically "Delicious Dish: Schweddy Balls" (my choice for best ever) and "Mr Robinson's Neighborhood: Santa." Rest were pretty ordinary.
