Northern VA seems to get by relatively unscathed. Dominion Power sucks donkey dick apparently though, saw a graphic last night that they had more power outages than Pepco and the other power companies combined.

A transformer behind our house blew up last night when a tree fell across the road and took out at least 3 power poles. I'm fully expecting not to have power for at least 5 days. Dominion sucks. After growing up in the midwest, where there are actual storms, not the occasional heavy rain we get here in DC, it blows me away how often the power goes out and then how long it takes to get working again.

Actually, This morning when I got to work Dominion had about 120,000 people in the dark (for 2.5 million customers, thats not too bad). That number is now down to 60,000. You will probably have your lights back on no later than Thursday Ck....

That bitch Sandy came roaring through my area Monday, the canal in my back yard over topped the bulkhead and covered about half my yard. The only road in and out of my neighborhood was flooded out. Couple trees down in the neighborhood, lost power for about 6 hours or so, then I told that bitch to get off my lawn. And she left.
