Mack Brown did way better than 9-3 at UNC. The firing/resignation was handled poorly. The coaching search will be done well. The Saban rumors were internet bluster and our own admin tried to quell the rumors with public statements saying there was no direct contact with Saban at any point by the school. You can't help the media and fans from speculation.

P.S. There is an entire thread of non USC and Washington fans giving a WTF for your hire. You just choose to ignore it apparently.

It was all the non-Alabama and Texas fans saying it. Auburn fans were loving it and saying he was gone. There was one, who is a troll in disguise IMO, who kept making posts that would basically say he was leaving but would always leave just enough of an opening so he could deny that. Now they have to worry about their own coach going! They will talk about just signing an extension but Texas could buy that out in a heart beat and I do believe if they want Malzhan they will get Malzhan! Enjoy the ride if he becomes 'one of the names!'

We've had some pretty good runs in the 80's, 90's, 00's and not doing to shabby playing for a second national championship in the 10's.

We do lay an egg or two every decade but so foes just about everyone else. Alabama is on a historical run which is great for you guys but let's be realistic it will end they always do. Until then enjoy I promise you I am enjoying my team's success and every team in the SEC and probably the country would want to trade places with us with the exception of Alabama.

Our recent issues were due to two things:

1. Tuberville left us with only 72 on scholarship which was brutal from a depth and leadership perspective.
2. Chizik lost his cotton picken mind for which I have no explanation.

Both seem to be corrected and Auburn will challenge for the West for sometime to come.

3 National Championships in the period and several other close ones. That looks pretty historical too! We have a few other time periods we were historical in as well but I won't go there.....yet! We don't have one good year then go 4 or 5 before the next one like another team in our State does.

This site is a microcosm of the nation. Lots less groupthink here than individual team sites. It's why I post here mostly. I don't really care about your coach or your program enough to continue to argue about it. If you are happy, your fan base is happy, and your school is happy, that is all that matters. Why do you care so much what I think? If I called out every single person on this website who says things I don't agree with about my school it would be a full time job. Get over it...
