This off season has been a bust. We needed real pitching help, 2 corner OF and a DH. We are now looking at scraps that consist of Howard, Byrd and others. Give me a flippin break DD. Get your arse in gear and improve this team because in case you haven't noticed, the Yankees, Blue Jays and Red Sox have dramatically improved theirs. I fully expect us to compete with TB for last in the AL East next season.

Yankees have not improved, if anything they may have gotten worse.


With what's left I would like them to sign Aoki. He hit over 280 last season and would be a legit lead off hitter which we don't have now.

I doubt anything happens with Howard. None of the top baseball guys like Olney or Heyman have mentioned anything about it, nor have any of the O's blogger's like Roch or Britt G.

Roch is saying that when the O's approached the Phillies about Byrd, the Phillies would move Byrd only if Howard was in the deal as well. Thankfully DD didn't bite.

Only way I'd listen about including Howard is if the Phillies ate about $40 million or so of his contract.

If they're willing to take Jimenez, then maybe only ask them for about $20-25 million instead.

i don't want to see young , pearce , lough and deaza as regulars . i think davis did a good job in right and i think that is the plan at this time . so we need a rh lf and dh . i think matt will not be a full go so he will dh start of the year .

Hope so too. Kid has tons of power for a 2nd baseman, just work on that average.
