I hope he plans on winning ROY, we'll need that type of performance out of him if he expects to make the playoffs. Even if he ends up being wrong, I like that he's being so competitive. He and Kobe should get along great lol.

Whistling Dixie from a youngster who is about to find out what it is like to play an 82-game NBA season and what that is all about. I believe right now he might be talking out his backside. We shall see.

I don't see the Lakers making the playoffs. Way too much has to go right for that to happen. Love the confidence though.

What kind of answers do people expect...."we are going to suck this year and have no chance of making the playoffs."

I'd actually appreciate the honesty. But anytime an athlete even sniffs anything that isn't a canned response, people freak the fuck out. And to top it off, those same people whine about how all they ever get is cliched responses. Go figure.

Kareem is now jumping on the bandwagon as well. I think they have a puncher's chance at the 8th seed but the stars would really need to align for them to make the playoffs. Hibbert needs to regain All-Star form.

Unless Kareem is planning on suiting up, the Lakers ain't makin' the playoffs.

Kareem has been saying some things lately both in and out of basketball that raises questions about what he is thinking and with some questioning that maybe he is entering into that pre-dementia window everso slightly. This may be more of the same.

So a guy who's never laced them up as a Pro in a real game is talking playoff basketball already.

Smart dude

Apparently, Julius Randle has a new mentor-MWP. Why doesn't the Lakers just officially add MWP and Nash as coaches and be done with it.

How far have the Lakers have fallen when the goal is simply making the playoffs now?

I would keep MWP as far from my young players as possible: "you see, Julius, sometimes you need to go into the stands and kick some ass!" Not sure this is the "mentor" they are looking for.

Well, the Lakers seem to think he is a good influence on young Randle because they continue to let him hang around the training facility and I suppose he is headed to Hawaii with the rest of the team for training camp.

Well, there you have it. The Logo in Sacramento knows that Nash is going down the coaching path and the Lakers let a good coach get away.

Those questioning just disagree with what he said. He's not entering some pre-dementia state.

Metta knows how to play the game. I don't see a problem here.

I guess they figure that they paid him enough to not play basketball these last few years that he'd stick around and help the youngsters. It's a shame because he could certainly help Russell. Fuck Nash.

Those disagreeing with Kareem are saying such things lakersrule using other evidence that they claim is medically based. Nash's loyalty appears to be not with the Lakers as he often claimed but to the first suitor willing to pay him money.

Metta has officially signed a non-guaranteed 1-year deal. Apparently he is serious about playing but we shall see if there is any thing of value for the Lakers. The pundits are reporting that Metta wants to be a mentor to the youngsters. Not sure that is worth a roster spot.
