It seems that the officials are calling any hand movement as a fair catch signal nowadays.
Don't know why exactly but they are.
Been that way a couple of years now.

To call a fair catch when one is signaled is not asking a little even. It's bare nothing.

It's been that way for a while. You have to pretty much keep your hands below your waste and/or palms down.

When people wave off, they use 2 hands, not 1.

North Carolina 100% got exactly what they deserved, the right call was made no matter what that other guy wants to cry about. The rule exists specifically for what happened.
