This was the second A5 crash for the new model. On May 8, an Icon A5 crashed near Lake Berryessa, killing Icon test pilot Jon Karkow, 55, and Icon designer Cagri Sever, 41. A test pilot and designer. Not something for the casual flyer.

By the way, in fairness, the A5 crash on May 8 was found to be pilot error by the NTSB. "The pilot's failure to maintain clearance from terrain while maneuvering at a low altitude. Contributing to the accident was the pilot's mistaken entry into a canyon surrounded by steep, rising terrain while at a low altitude for reasons that could not be determined."

Definitely, a cool but strange looking plane.

I am still stunned by all this. The outpouring from players on Twitter and whatnot is ridiculous, but Doc was a favorite player for a lot of players. Sad to see him go.

I remember seeing his Tweet of his new plane and something about it just didn't sit well with me.
