That youtube vid is not favorable. Like it describes, it shows Halladay flying the plane badly oscillating between 5 feet off the water surface and then elevating to 10,000 feet and back. Not sure what the hell he was doing but it wasn't good.

Roy was having the time of his life in that plane. It was reported he had 700 hours of flying so handling the simplified A5 was easy for him. But he was still new to the plane and to be flying that close to the water was a big mistake especially using the erratic vertical flight path. I don't think he knew the water in that area of the Gulf was only a few feet deep. He was overconfident. Maybe a sudden down draft hit the plane at the wrong time. A damn preventable accident.

If this report is true, this is not good. Ole Roy must have carried a party into that plane and wrecked himself or something.

These guys all have a Doctor Feel Good who prescribe all sorts of common sleep aids, painkillers, and anti-depressants that become habit forming after years in sports. In Roy's case, Prozac, Ambien and Amphetamines. Who's to say he didn't have even a mild high which may have led to reckless behavior. Anyway, Go Eagles!
