Germany started waking up late in the half.

Algeria had the better early chances... had a great goal called off for offsides (correct call), but still it was exceptional cross and header. If only he had been another foot back to stay onside.

Well I actually am half German with a dual citizenship so they will always be my number two team after Team USA. But to each his own!

Hopefully we can buck the trend of group winners being undefeated. I just don't see Jozy in the game unless he gets subbed in during extra time. I'd love to not need him and get him a few more days before Saturday. Belgium doesn't exactly scare me, especially with how they've been playing. I think if you swapped us with them in group play, we'd of gotten 9 points as well.

U.S. coach Jurgen Klinsmann concerned with Algerian referee - ESPN FC

"Is it a good feeling? No," Klinsmann told reporters here Monday at his pre-match press conference. "He's able to speak French with their players on the field, not with us. We hope it's not a concern."

Klinsmann also noted that Algeria and Belgium both occupied Group H in Brazil, and that the United States defeated the Desert Foxes in dramatic fashion in South Africa four years ago.

"It's the country that we beat in the last second in the last World Cup," Klinsmann said.

Well, looks pretty likely that Kompany will play. Would've been a lot easier breaking down that back line without him. Johnson and Beasley will have to get involved in the attack. I also see Yedlin playing a big role coming off the bench. Belgium like to play with a high line, making playing in the midfield difficult. That leaves the susceptible to speed down the wings though, and that's where we'll have to exploit them to open the game up. If Bradley tries to force play through the middle we will create nothing.
