So shooting and "playing defense" are the only two things a player can do to help his team in the sport of hockey? I'd like to think that there is more to the game than that, a bit more nuanced, ya know? He hits like a freight train, is the best scorer in the game today, is an underrated passer, and yes, his defensive responsibility has improved.

Or, I don't know, continue the tired narrative.
