How does one even decide? I mean I look at Brees, and out of the 10 yrs he's been a Saint, the defense has been good for only 2 of em, and historically bad for a lot of em....also with only 2 thousand yard rushers, and 1 elite passing option in Jimmy Graham.
I'm not here to say he's the clear cut best over that span, but he's the qb that has been asked to carry the entire team, more than anyone that I can remember over a 10 yr span.
Looking at the here and now, he threw for 5200 yds, but I will readily admit that the spotlight should go on who's got it done before, and in the playoffs.
Rodgers has been phenomenal(his o-line doesnt get enough credit) with the circumstances that he's had to face. He made some mistakes against Dallas, but with all the chips on the line, he came up big time. Skill wise, he's currently at the top, but for me, overall it's tough to knock Brady off the top...BUT if Rodgers pulls this off, he's the clear cut current number 1 heading into next year

Brady is one of the best pocket passers of all time...he's phenomenal, as long as he isn't pressured...but he's not mobile enough to be considered the greatest QB.

Neither are at or above Joe Montana, who still remains the best big game QB I've ever seen. I have to say that Rodgers just might be the best QB since Montana. Brady is top 10 all time as well...and if either wins the SB this year, nothing will change.

Out of Brady's 15 seasons, he's had a top 5 defense in regards to points per game in 6 of them. Top 5 in yards once, and top 5 in DVOA once.

You can argue that Rodgers is almost never without an elite receiver option and until he got it going with Nelson late in the season they were playing like shit.

Then you look at yesterday and can't quite make that argument.

I don't think GB gets past the Falcons without Nelson though.

Best WR in the league in the back half of the season.
