Rough few weeks in the hockey world. Between the deaths of some greats and the declining health of others, we're starting to lose a generation.

Shit. One of the greats who has somehow been underrated. :(

Also. My Jean fact to commemorate his hockey life; he scored 76 points in 70 games in his final season, at the age of 39.

Unreal. RIP Jean.

I saw him in 2010 at Canada hockey house . Just drank beer and listened to him talk. It was wonderful.

I have a picture I took of him with my dad at the 40th anniversary dinner for the 1967 Leafs, he and John Ferguson Sr. attended since the Habs were the opponents/finalists that year. Hell of a nice guy.

He was an outstanding player, and even a better person. His leadership on the ice was an example of how you get players to follow you into battle every time you step on the ice. His dedication to his foundation demonstrated what a real human being that this great man was. RIP, Jean Beliveau, we honor you for a life of excellence.

Indeed a sad day. Great player to watch, he toiled his way to greatness effortlessly. Whenever someone said, who was the greatest team captain, I'd always pop out with Beliveau.

As years went on, some folks would say, "Who?"
Read your history books. ;)
